After 12 years as one of the main presenters on Radio 4’s Today programme, Martha Kearney has announced that she will be leaving the show. Kearney joined the programme in 2007 and has become a household name, known for her incisive interviews and knowledgeable reporting.

In a statement, Kearney said, “It has been an incredible privilege to be part of such an iconic and important programme. I have loved every moment of my time at Today, but feel that now is the right time for me to explore new opportunities and challenges.”

Kearney’s departure comes at a time of significant change for the BBC, as the broadcaster faces increased competition from streaming services and digital platforms. It is not yet known who will replace Kearney on the programme, but her departure is sure to be felt by listeners who have come to rely on her for her insightful analysis and engaging interviews.

We wish Martha Kearney all the best in her future endeavors and thank her for her contributions to the Today programme over the years.
